MALTESE PRESIDENCY OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE
"THE RIGHT TO FANTASY"
ANTHOLOGY OF CHILDREN'S ART AND POETRY
To celebrate its current presidency of the Council of Europe Malta is
publishing an anthology of European children's art and poetry, under
the title
"The Right to Fantasy".
The idea is to have European children be represented by free expression,
in the form of art and simple verse, to demonstrate their imagination,
their wishes, their conception of love and fraternity, as well as their
conception of a positive future.
Each painting will be accompanied by some basic lines
of poetry, in the native tongue, so as to enhance the images created
in the paintings.
The age bracket of the children will be between 5
and 16 years
Simple technical criteria should be observed to meet
the needs of the publication. The paintings should be about 21cm X 30
cm and the choice of media would preferably be acrylic, poster paints,
powder colours, etc., so as to have works of impact. Each painting will
be accompanied by about 4-6 of poetry, in the native language, as well
as by the full name of the child and the country of origin.
Given that the anthology will be published in April
2003, those institutions accepting the invitation should submit works,
by ordinary mail, to the following address:
